  I was in Opelousas today for work and when I googled restaurants the Brisket Basket come up when I saw that it was BBQ I was excited, when I arrived it looked abandoned and there was not a trace of smoke meat, a lite up pit in the air, your supposed to smell BBQ from miles around in the neighborhood you know when someone is Lighting up the BBQ pit, I said well looks can be deceiving I'll just go in anyway I'm already here it just might surprise me. The staff was friendly but I should have followed my instinct to leave, worst BBQ I have ever eaten, I ordered the brisket must have been cooked in the oven, it was was not a warm plate room temperature is what I would rate it, I had more fat than meat, baked beans right out of the can, which I should have know because they had canned green beans on a cart in the hallway area, a sad slice of cake, I didn't eat it my plan was to return it after I got off from work but it was late so I just trashed it a waste of $9.80 something cents. If your in search of down home BBQ this is not it. Drive 2 hours to Houma, La to a place called Big Mike's BBQ it is so worth the drive best BBQ you will ever eat.
